# 9. What Pulse Is and Is Not

In plain terms:

* Pulse is a non-custodial software wallet.
* Pulse does not hold, access, or control user assets.
* Buy/Sell and Pay features are provided through supported third-party partners, not directly by Pulse.
* Availability of any feature, partner, or product may vary by country, partner, product, and compliance requirements, and may change over time.
* Points are not a token, currency, deposit, investment, transferable asset, or a promise of any future token allocation.
* Pulse does not hold, access, or control user assets. Pulse does not exchange fiat currency or virtual assets directly, provide investment advice, or manage assets on behalf of users. Buy/Sell and Pay features are provided through supported third-party partners.

Users are responsible for safeguarding access to their own device and account, including any Passkey backup settings managed through their device provider. Pulse has no independent ability to recover or reset a user’s wallet access. This whitepaper describes the Pulse product and its direction.
